Notability: Smarter AI Notes App Reviews

As a teacher and department head, I have a lot of meetings. I love the ability to put my various meetings in folders. I would like to see added the ability to search handwritten text and a handwritten to typed conversion function added at some point. Still, the ability to record and write then later tap on your note and have the recording go to that spot is brilliant. I also like to skip a line so I can later fill in things I missed. It would be nice to have an auto double space option in focus writing so I dont have to tap the return at the start of a new line. I know some of these suggestions may come out in later updates, but Notability is the best I have used and I have tried all of the highest rated Apple Pencil compatible apps. This is the one to get.

I use this app in replacing my journal. Im able to copy & paste, use my pen and wireless keyboard. Notability is able to do everything with regards to note taking. Id recommend it to anyone looking for something to store notes and information. Two thumbs up!

Ive used notability for a while now for school notes and had no issues. Recently the app spends more time crashing than actually functioning. This makes note taking practically impossible. Fix your app please!

I love love this app, I have tried other note taking apps and nothing compares to this one. It has made my life so much easier and more organized. Note taking has been much more easier with this app. The only thing, is that I wish it was available for Windows computers so I can transfer my notes to my laptop, I usually take notes on my iPad but there are times when I need my laptop and note taking on that is not easy and thats when I wish it was also available for Windows. That would make this app perfect for me.

Im a student who has used this app for two years! I absolutely love it! It has totally changed my life and Im excited to use it when I get the new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

Please add a Dot Grid. Review: Highly recommend this app especially for those (like me and similar intention) who want more than the features provided in Apple’s Notes app. I wanted something that would replace my notebook and this is it. A must if you have an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. Tried other note taking apps and found this to be superior in many aspects. Great Apple Pencil support, syncing is smooth across devices, and the customization of writing and paper styles is simple and just enough but not too much to make this turn into a robust drawing/graphics app—this app it for taking notes, and sketching ideas. This app is solid. My last review I requested improved palm detection for Apple Pencil and since the last update, so far I think it has improved, thank you.

Great app! Close to perfection with Apple Pencil support, audio notes and various PDF functionalities. Would be perfect for students/researchers if highlighter could pull underlying text into a summary.

Ive been using notability for about 3 years now and it was running smoothly up until these past couple of months. It takes forever to take notes, the app closes unexpectedly, it takes a long time for notes to load. Please solve these issues they are extremely frustrating to deal with as a daily user of your app. Thank you

There is a bug where images will be placed over each other if you use the camera to take a picture. Then take another. This happens even when you put some text between the images. In my view it makes the app worthless for anyone who wants to illustrate a note with multiple images captured from their camera.

All I can say , it is the first app I paid since I used iOS devices for 7 years, it is something deserves to pay, it fulfills one of great features of iPad Pro Functionalities

I find it tricky to use Notability to take notes when Im also using the camera to take a picture and insert it inline with the note. This process requires manually moving the image or multiple images overlay each other.

Now what I should be doing is studying for a test I have next period only problem all my work is in this dumb app and it keeps crashing and not letting me click on anything! Taking note is a horror it takes ages and while I love this app Im seriously considering going back to paper because of all the GLITCHES PLEASE FIX

I had forgotten how important and naturally satisfying it is to write notes by hand, after years of relying on typing for everything. Using the keyboard does not jumpstart the creative process. In fact it deadens it. Notability helped me learn to love handwriting again, and Im forever grateful. Thank you! One small problem: Im a southpaw and no matter how much I change the settings my palm sometimes triggers the zoom and the pencil stops registering. Repositioning the hand fixes this, but occurs again seemingly at random. Please help or fix and then it would be a perfect five star app!

I havent had any problems with the app until this past week, and it keeps deleting all my files for no reason. I have about 100 files that are all backed up and on my google drive, but re-downloading everything is a pain, especially when I cant go back to edit. Please fix this!

I never write reviews for apps but this app on my iPad Pro and pencil is the absolute best! I can use the pencil as if it was on paper and the app doesnt slide with my palm. I can also record lectures and when I play them back, it can also playback my handwriting. I can upload and download work straight into the app from my university software. Amazing! Keep up the great work.

Notability is honestly the best writing app I have ever seen. If they could add more colors that would meek it even better.

Tip: Theres a search feature in notability. Its at the top right of the screen. Add #hashtags to your document titles or in the documents themselves to better filter through your notes. Tip: If you like using icons add emojis to your subject names. Tip: For a cleaner look, disable colorful notes. Btw, it doesnt get rid of the color, it simply gives your subject folders a color dot. This may look better if you dont want the folders to be full colored bars. Tip: Use iCloud and save device space.

My school uses iPads for classes and note taking and this is hands down the best and most effective app I have downloaded. Definitely the money.

I absolutely love this app and use it almost daily. The syncing, ability to easily switch from note to note, editing tools, and clarity are all amazing. The only thing keeping me from rating this app with a perfect score is the inability to make the notes read only within the app. It is a pain to have to convert it to another format just to keep from accidentally making changes.

I love this app because you can Mack a picture or draw and my favorite thing write!!! I wrote about countries and about my day when my iPod is with me.❤️
